Navajo Second-phase Chiefs Blanket, circa 1865

This is a very fine example of a wearing blanket that was widely traded out to Plains tribes in the Western US. Donated to the De Young by the Thomas Weisel family, who also gave the de Young their great Mimbres pottery collection.
