27 years after the demise of the Southern Pacific and 44 after rolling out of La Grange, the SP "bloody nose" sticks out like a sore thumb, even after a long since disintegrated UP patch defaced it. Grinding through 107 degree heat in the desert, former SP #8541 leads a matched set of 3 SP tunnel motors and 3 UP SD40-2's as they thunder through the middle of nowhere.
