Winning drivetrain setup
This is a recent change to the drivetrain for the Veloce. I replaced the cranks with Campagnolo 170mm dated '85 with a 56t Nuovo Record chainring, a J. Moyne (French with English threading) 3 speed 16-18-20 freewheel and a Campi Nuovo Gran Sport derailleur. On Harvey's advice I added spacers on both sides of the pulleys to give more room to the 1/8" chain (that's what the FW takes) and it worked great. In 40 years of cycling I've never ever won a race until last night (Aug 7 2014) on this setup. Big sprint finish in a 1 hr criterium.
