COMMUNICATION. BODY LANGUAGE. LOVE WITHOUT WORDS.
It has been suggested that somewhere between 60 and 70 percent of communication between people is non-verbal.Two of my closest friends fell in love last year. Geoff and Naasicaa. Geoff is completely deaf. When they first met Naasicaa didn’t even know the Auslan alphabet. But, love knows no boundaries.I wish to show how special and magical a silent world can be between two people, after all, words are just words and sometimes they aren't even needed. “A picture tells a thousand words” and so can a single hand movement and facial expression between two souls. I want to show the intimacy and privacy of their interactions/communications in a world surrounded by movement and chaos and noise. The privilege of their love, silent and secret because no one else can understand their language.Images have been shot in locations specific to moments shared by the couple - first meeting place, first date, first proper conversation, first kiss etc . I have worked very closely with Geoff and Naasicaa throughout this creative process, as I wished this to be something of meaning to them. I believe I have captured the essence I set out to and shown how truly special and magnificent their bond is.
