Lightning over St. Lawrence River (Explored #27 Aug 14)

A wonderful lightshow prompted me to grab my trusty D700, a wide angle and my tripod. From my shore line I knew I had a fantastic field of view on a passerby storm off to the West. Who knew that 30 seconds later, I would end up with this?

 

I love thunderstorms and their sheer beauty. They are moody, sultry, and unpredictable. I believe this is why I am so attracted to them.
