Nääs Factories I
(Swedish: Nääs Fabriker) A historic setting with spinning and weaving mills, one of the best preserved in Sweden. The first spinning mill was built in 1833, the spinning mill on the photo was built in 1897. Power was obtained by taking water from the lake Torskabotten, leading it in a long water tube to turbines and then out into Tollered's stream.
During the textile crisis in the 1970s the mill had to shut down.
Since 1990 the property company Ernst Rosén has transformed Nääs Factories into an area with a hotel, conference centre, sauna facility, restaurants, offices, shops, a café and charging stations for electric cars.

The locality Tollered was formed by the owners of Nääs Factories who, among other things, built housing and houses, laundry, grain mill, bakery, school and a nurse's office with free health care for the factory workers (already in 1860)!
The people living in Tollered have recently written their own history and put up 94 signs describing the factory buildings, the housing, other buildings and the people who lived there! They have also written books ...
