Starting the walk
Once we ascended the High Line and turned North, this was our view. The Hudson is on our right and the Line curves in towards 10th Avenue. No obstacles so far and the road ahead is clear. Formerly a commercial railroad line, it has been out of use since 1980. It is currently owned by CSX and it seems the only reason it is still standing is that nobody wants to pay to tear it down. It lasted so long that it has gone from being an eyesore to the probable site of future development.
