Avalanche gorge
Avalanche gorge is a surprisingly difficult waterfall to photograph. I have been there many times, as it is a very kid friendly walk for my family. It is gorgeous with the blue water, the red rocks, the green moss, the serpentine path it takes right under your feet. Yet, I've seldom seen, and have yet to take, a photo that really captures the essence of the scene. I actually used 5 strobes in this picture to try and open up the shadows of the back rocks, but I think the color suffered. Next time I go back, I will try multiple exposures to experiment with HDR. Also, going to try a TS lens to get some selective focus. Who knows, maybe a less literal approach will actually garner a picture that is more worthy of this awesome place.
