Holiday Sharing 2014
In December 2014, the Holiday Sharing program distributed gifts, toys, food, and other items to a record number of local families in need. In total, 130 families selected by the Salvation Army and Madison House’s own Latino and Migrant Aid (LAMA) program participated in the Holiday Sharing program.
Madison House was transformed into wonderland of toys and donations leading up to the Distribution Day on Saturday, December 6. Holiday Sharing volunteers worked tirelessly to sort and inventory each donation for the families.
When the big day arrived, volunteers wore festive sweaters and carried out boxes of gifts to each family’s car throughout the morning and afternoon. Children who arrived with their parents had the opportunity to meet Santa and decorate sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles.
The Holiday Sharing program certainly made the season more merry and bright for many families in our community this year.
