Blythe Bridge Station
As Blythe Bridge was the first station I ever caught a train from as a young child (to Meir), I thought it my duty to up-load a photo (poor quality admittedly and taken at a much later date), just for the record.
I suppose you could say there's two sides to every story, the platform the train is arriving at has lost it's original waiting room in favour of a bus shelter, whilst the Stoke bound platform appears still to have its original canopy (although it might have been slightly modified) and buildings (including the medieval toilet block on this end with decency wall, albeit boarded up).
Photo was taken 17th September 1979, the signal box has since vanished and no doubt the main station building and the lampost in the foreground too.
The Swindon cross-country unit (arriving on a Crewe to Derby service) was probably one of the most cosiest DMU's I've travelled on....and great if you were sitting at the front for a panoramic view of the line ahead.
