Looms like those automatic checkout machines at woolies..:)

I am tired of being your beta tester Woolworths, if your gonna roll out these automatic checkouts then make them work properly.

The next time one asks me to place item in the bagging area i'm gonna poke it in it's electronic head and tell it to wait the hell up..... i'm human and sometimes it takes more than the allocated 5 seconds to arrange said grocery in the bag.

 

here's a hint woolies machine programmers.... when you go and weigh every single item for the automatic machines add another variable in there for estimated time to bag the item (ie tried bagging a pack of 24 nappies vs a 100 pack of mini cupcake holders?).... then for extra points use some Ai to work out how many items I already have in my bag and determine that if might need a extra 12 seconds to arrange my carton of eggs in the single bag that has 12 other item in it... or if its a loaf of bread i might spend a extra 2.5 seconds making sure its not gonna be squashed.

 

I'm all for automation, but you gotta get that stuff to work properly first....

 

so in the meantime.. i'll join the line with the grannies in the one and only check that is manned by a human that works better than your automated checkouts... i'm looking at you Marrickville Metro Woolworths..

 

as for you kmart.. your machines are like comparing the pre 2000 gameboy with Xbox..
