By the turn of the 20th century, Baliuag workshops ceased producing big altar tables. This table was made before that time, thus the sizable proportions.
This altar table is inlaid with carabao bone shaped like lozenges or diamonds in varying arrangements to create different patterns: lozenges that outline the one-piece top edges, main frame and drawer faces; the 4-leaf flower at the corners of the drawers; stellar flowers at the center of the large drawer, knees and in the middle of the scalloped apron. The result is an elegant, uncomplicated embellishments that further enhance the beauty of the table. Except for a few pieces that have been restored, the inlays are all original. The original skeleton keyholes of the top drawers have been replaced with later round bolt-type keyholes, though that on the right drawer has come off. Keyholes can be easily restored by patching the holes and installing period-appropriate keyholes with escutcheons. Turned drawer knobs maybe old replacements. The metal drawer guides are a later addition for smoother sliding operation. Finely turned legs raise up the table.
