© Firefit Kingston hose haul up challenge
A grueling competition, known as a 'Combat Challenge' with firefighters from Ontario and Quebec took place in Kington, Ontario this weekend at the Invista Centre.
The firefighters are to climb six flights of stairs carrying a length of hose; at the top they must haul 45 lbs. of rolled fire hose, go back down the stairs (not missing any), swing an 8 lb. sledge in a forced entry challenge, run an obstacle course, drag a fully charged hose and spray a target and then drag a 165 lb. dead weight dummy 100 feet to the end.
All this while wearing fully gear including functioning breathing apparatus.
These guys and gals are true athletes; when you witness this and see the times they are completing these tasks at, you will be in awe.
