YWD FLYING MACHINE
Towards the end of the half cab single decker era in 1950, Yorkshire Woolen took delivery of a batch of 27'6" Leyland Tiger PS2's with dual purpose Willowbrook bodies. With their 0600 125bhp engines, they must have gone like the wind.
In the early sixties they were given double deck chassis side frames and rebodied as front entrance double deckers. The first one was a hideous confection of Park Royal bits and bobs assembled by Charles Roe, the rest however had much more pleasant proportioned Northern Counties bodies.
However as they were going to have new chassis side frames, I do not see why YWD did not go the whole hog and convert them into the longer PD3. With a PD3 propshaft also, it should have worked.
