Muhammad Ali Pasha

The man who commissioned the building of the mosque at the Citadel of Cairo, the Mosque of Muhammad Ali (Pasha). Our guide merely said "Muhammad Ali" most of the time.

 

After visiting the mosque and citadel (where he has explained everything), he pointed out to this bronze carving and said "this is Muhammad Ali". And one Auntie asked, "you mean this is Muhammad Ali the boxer? He commissioned the building of the mosque???" I couldn't stop laughing after she said that.

 

Just, amazingly an APAKAH situation, truly.

 

Especially considering the mosque looks old, and was commissioned and completed in the 1800s.

 

Just... Hahahahahahahahahaha.
