Cuff Question

Aside from my low light photo and odd choice of fabric (I got *a lot* of it for super cheap) I clearly have another problem. When I get my cuff all flipped around and everything right side out my cuff does not come close to covering my seam up yet alone the cut edge of my fabric. I can't seem to wrap my head around what I am doing wrong or what I am missing in the instructions. Any outside opinions, advice or viewpoints?
