and now Saxon's understanding full sentences ... I realise this probably isn't anything new to those of us living with dogs but I have to tell this story too:

so I'm out having my morning coffee and Saxon (and Biscuit) are always there, Saxon as always trying to get one of his toys thrown or kicked by me.

Since the big blue Jolly ball it's been that one he squeezes/chomps on incessantly pushing it in and around my feet and knees.

I'm not a big fan of the Jolly ball 'cause it's big and disgusting and I can only kick it, I'm not handling it, and I can never really get a good kick in when I'm sitting, 1stly because he doesn't let it get very far before intercepting it and 2ndly because there aren't that many safe places to kick from the chair under the pergola.

So this morning I've said: "no, you don't really want to play with that do you?" (in a sort of singsong voice)

Biscuit had been playing with the pink Cuz (desqueaked thankfully) but was currently distracted under another one of those rose bushes I have.

So I've said to Saxon: "why don't you go get Biscuit's toy" ... he's looked behind him and with barely a word more of encouragement (because I guess I'm usually saying the opposite "give that toy to Biscuit") Saxon has trotted over and stole the toy Biscuit had abandoned from his feet hahaha

Of course I rewarded Saxon with a couple of throws of the pink Cuz!! :-)
