(5/12) Saxon ~ Duck Pond
not sure what this is actually called, I call it a lake or a dam, but I've seen it referenced as a large duck pond, either way it's in the middle of an off-lead dog park called "President's Park"
We go to President's Park a lot. Mostly we drive and walk a loop, but sometimes I take Saxon rollerblading, this lake is a must-stop and I suggest he "go get his feet wet" as we go by, you can see him accelerate toward it when he knows it's coming :-)
The "boring bit" when blading for him is across the other side of the road. A ball over there keeps him happy until we get back to this side for another trip around :-)
When we walk getting wet is not exactly encouraged, I don't mind most of the time but if he's just had a bath or some other practical reason I can suggest he stay out and encourage with the right words and timing of the ball, and he's pretty good about staying along the edge ;-)
In the far background, top right is the dog training club building. I used to take Lotus there, maybe you remember the first time I found this lake was with her on a very hot training day that ended up being cancelled due to the heat?
found the video: too hot for obedience
