Oh My Love! A Birthday Gift for Mr. Audubon!
“A true conservationist is a man who knows that the world is not given by his fathers, but borrowed from his children.” - John James Audubon, who would be 225 years old today. I bet he’d be on Flickr, and of course he’d remove the gender specificity in the quote above. ;o) Oh, and he’d be a member of the Audubon Society!!
I am a certified Bird Nerd and Craniac! That’s certified, not certifiable, LOL! Okay, maybe I’m that too. I love nature and all creatures, especially Sandhill Cranes. They make my heart sing, and they healed me in some way. They also brought me back to photography, and introduced me to some of the best people I know. It gives me a little lump in my throat actually; I feel so grateful.
So, a big thank you Mr. Audubon, for inspiring generations of bird lovers, including me! I just rejoined the Audubon Society. Not sure why I’ve been away so long, and I remember when I was a member before, I was pretty young and broke. Audubon membership is still very reasonable, and you meet the nicest people.
Hugs and thanks for viewing! =o)
