Ford Cortina 1600E

The 1600E probably contributed more than any other into making me a Cortina fanatic. Although my overall favourite is the Mk III, the Mk II 1600E was the saloon to aspire to when I was a teenager. Although Mk II production ceased in 1970, the 1600E continued to be sought after for many years afterwards, and still is today.

This late model was at Blackpool on 27 June. The 1600E should have a pin stripe rather than Lotus style side stripe, and wouldn't have had those sports type stripes over the roof and boot. It is of course the owner's prerogative to apply such items.

The Mk III parked in front was customised.
