Follower of Leonardo da Vinci. Saint Family with Young St John the Baptist, Angel and Donator. After lost Madonna with Yarnwinder, XVI century. Previously at Antiques Shop at Varese, Italy.
Oil on panel, 44 x 59 cm. Copy of lost painting by Leonardo da Vinci by the same subject. Painting is also called "Madonna with Spindle, Madonna of the Distaff, Madonna dell'aspo, Madonna dei Fusi, Madonna mit dem Spindle, Virgen de los husos, Virgen de la Rueca. The figures of Joseph, Young St John the Baptist, Tobias and Angel are added to composition. However, the original title claims there is a donator here, I guess it's been mistaken with Tobias figure.
