2 - Horizontal measurements

1. Bust - this needs to be at the fullest point of your bust line. Measure all the way around, then measure your front bust - from side seam to side seam across the front and back - from side seam to side seam along the back. Make sure your measuring tape is always straight!

 

2. Underbust - right where your bra line would be.

2b. OPTIONAL! If your garment has a very specific neckline, it's helpful to make a measurement from underbust to where you would desire the neckline to be.

 

3. Waist - the smallest part of your torso. Some people find it best to put a wrap a piece of string around where you feel your waist is and to lightly tie it in place. Then, jump around and move a bit! This is where your natural waist is.

 

4. Hips - the widest part of your hips. Yes, your bum gets involved too. This is another measurement where the tape often gets droopy or crooked, so watch out!
