(2.3) 1000 piece puzzle, Tile Picture by Anonymous, Puzzelman, Belgium.

I wanted to try another from the Puzzelman brand, having been somewhat dissatisfied with my first effort. The quality here is much better; the pieces do have the same waxy, slightly sticky surface but there was no dust at all, and the lighter colors hide any smudges. The print is clear, and brighter than in this photo taken on a gloomy afternoon in December.

[Photo replaced with a slightly brighter version.]

The full description from the box (part of Puzzelman's Rijksmuseum Collection) reads: "Tile Picture with Willem III's Ship Den Briel and the Flagship off the Oude Hoofd in Rotterdam, c. 1690-1730." I love the unusual medium and the China-blue tone of the colors.

The puzzle started off very slowly and I thought it would take a long time to complete, but the second half flew by. Although the colors were all similar, there was a lot of different texture and tone among the ships, sky and water.

Finished in 6 hr., 24 mins. with no box reference. Avg. time: 23.0 secs./piece; 156.3 pcs./hr. Difficulty rating: 2.3/10.
