The Stare Down
I previously posted a shot when this female Rose breasted Grosbeak was perched on the back of this feeder, staring down - as if waiting for the female Northern Cardinal to move over and make room for her.
Well, the Cardinal wasn't having it, clearly not in the mood to share. But the Grosbeak also wasn't having it, and she decided to just jump down there anyway!
For a brief, tense moment there was this stare down between them. The Cardinal finally relented and flew off, leaving the Grosbeak to enjoy it all to herself.
