The Quest
Lately we've noticed that approximately 30 minutes after the mealworm feeder has been filled, an Anole lizard shows up.
There are at least two different ones, and they slowly and carefully make their way up that long pole, pausing frequently, sometimes going back down before they get to the feeder. Up and down, back and forth. getting in their steps. Sometimes, we've seen them actually jump inside, grab one or two, and then scurry back down to eat in solitude.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to see this one jump inside. A few birds showed up when it was almost there. However, I bet it returned later when we weren't looking. After all, a free meal is a free meal, right?
