Warm Temps And A Chipmunk!?!
Following the severe cold weather we just had, we were treated for a several days of unseasonably warm weather, feeling more like spring than winter.
No doubt, it was those temps in the mid 70's F (23.8 C) that brought our chipmunk out of hibernation to celebrate. And to restock his stores that must be starting to get pretty low.
As soon as we spotted him, I switched out the treats for our backyard visitors to include whole nuts in the shell on one steppingstone, and a nut-berry suet mix on another steppingstone (as seen above). We've had so much rain recently the ground is soggy and with more rain in the forecast the Goodie Bowl are on vacation until things dry up a bit.
