Coiled and Ready To Strike

Caught this little Skipper moments before it uncoiled that tongue to strike out and test which of the yellow flowerets of this Lantana flower were the tastiest.

 

Of course it turned it's back at that moment but it was fun to see that little tongue just barely visible. And yes the correct name for a butterfly tongue is proboscis but that's so hard to say.
