You Just Never Know

On a recent trip to the mountains in hopes of seeing some Fall color, my sister and I decided to take a side trip to see some popular local falls. This "side trip" required us to go hiking several miles through the woods, which wound up being quite a feat in itself as we are not seasoned hikers.

Upon arrival at the park, we saw a sign posted warning visitors that bears were in the area (see below in the comments section). There were lots of other hikers and no one seemed too concerned, so we decided as long as we were careful we should be OK.

During the hike, I took lots of random shots of the trail we were hiking on because you just never know when one might be The One Shot that makes the trip worth while. So imagine my surprise as I was going through the shots once we got back to the room, and I saw THIS shot above. OMG, I thought! How did we manage to NOT SEE this while we were hiking?! I quickly showed it to my sister - Hey look at what we missed!

THEN, I viewed the shot LARGE to get a better look. GRRR! Not a bear after all. It's just a stinking tree stump!

LOL! As disappointed as I was - I'm also a little relieved. LOL!
