Windmill "De Put" is believed to have once been operated by the father of famous painter Rembrandt van Rijn, who was born just across the small drawbridge. The original flour mill from 1619 was lost long ago, but in 1987 this replica was reopened.
The wooden drawbridge is also a recent replica; it was built in 1983 as a replica of the 17th century bridge that was destroyed in 1817.
The name of the bridge is the Rembrandt bridge.
