Flowercarpet in Brussels, Belgium

Every 2 years the Grand-Place (Grote markt, central square) in Brussels is covered with a flower carpet of begonias during 3 or 4 days. The carpet of 77 m x 24 m is composed by about 120 volunteers, with nearly one million begonias.

This year, in 2014 the event was from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 August 2014 at the Grand-Place in Brussels.

The theme for 2014 was 50 years of Turkish immigration. Because of that, a turkish Usak carpet was laid on the square in flowers.
