Nine-banded Armadillo

Dasypus novemcinctus

 

The only Xenarthran that ranges into the United States, the Nine-banded

Armadillo is expected to reach it's northern limits in Ohio, Pennsylvania

and New Jersey. This species is unusual in that it always gives birth to

identical quadruplets.
