In no hurry to get to LAX
The end of my Southern California trip of late 2001. I left San Diego with a heavy heart, knowing that I would be spending the next night on a long red-eye flight from LAX to LHR. I was in no hurry to get to LAX, a 2-3 hour drive on I-5, so opted for the slower and far more scenic Pacific Coast Highway, making detours to beaches along the way. How I envied that surfer: this was his daily reaility. It would be back to the office for me.
