Brill Bullet

Introduced in 1931 on the electrified Philadelphia & Western Railway’s interurban route, these cars could operate at speeds of 80-85 mph. The streamlined design was a world first, influencing the style of high-speed trains thereafter. The Pennsylvanian Bullet Cars enjoyed long lives, working the Norristown Express trains under SEPTA auspices until 1990.
