A lost Victoria viewpoint

From the street level at Eccleston Bridge, I was able to peer down into the western platforms of Victoria Station, recording a scene that was lost to posterity soon afterwards when the site was redeveloped and this airy vista was replaced by the gloom of the Victoria Plaza shopping centre. Prominent in the view is electro-diesel 73 114 ready to haul a Gatwick Express train of Mark 2 coaching stock - a frequent service that British Rail had introduced in 1984. More mundane rolling stock is represented by a Sussex-bound 4-CIG unit (Class 423) while a suburban 4-EPB is also in view.
