Dating from 1890 and located in S. Hyde Park Avenue. Col. Peter O. Knight was a noted civic leader in the late-1890s/early 1900s. His name is perpetuated in the airport on Davis Islands. Today serving general aviation, Peter O. Knight Airport (IATA Code: TPF) was Tampa’s main airport between 1935 and 1945. Peter O. Knight’s former home is the headquarters of the Tampa Civic Society.
