Happy motoring with Dinky Toys

A neat polystyrene kit of a garage was announced in the June 1960 Meccano Magazine. It was advertised with other Dinky Toys accessories, including a tyre rack and forecourt Esso petrol pumps and sign. The Dinky Supertoys Leyland Octopus tanker has arrived to make a fresh delivery.

Also announced that month was a Dublo Dinky Toy Lansing Bagnall tractor and trailer, a handy accessory to add to the realism of a Hornby Dublo train set.

The design of the Lansing Bagnall tractor, once a universal sight at the larger railway stations, dates back to a commission in 1930 from the LMS railway. Known as the Imp, the original version was powered by a Bullnose Morris engine.
