Building great sentences : exploring the writer's craft.
RES ENGLISH
DVD 321 & DVD 322
Building Great Sentences is a collection of 24 lectures, about the fascinating subject of the structure, construction and power of a well crafted sentence. It is read by the author (I think) in a powerfully melodious voice, filled with exquisite examples of the constructions it proposes and punctuated by the rich texture of its varied and congruent rhythms. Even if you don't understand most of the detailed mechanics of syntax and you can't remember all the techniques presented in this well structured and well organized course, just by listening to the examples and the lectures, themselves so well written (or we should say, spoken) you would get the flavor of this important craft and understand the pleasure of an elaborate, powerful sentence.
