When they say, "They don't build them like they used to", they aren't kidding. There is no way ANYONE is going to buy a sewing machine that weighs what this one does.
Obviously this is why sewing machines were used in the home so much. Once you got it in the house, you HAD to use it because nobody had the energy to carry the thing out of there. Might as well learn how to use it.
