Saltcoats Station 1978
I might of course be a bit optimistic about when I took this, certainly it was in the mid 1970s and I can see a Capri that looks to have an S registration so it seems likely this was 1977 or 1978. I was thinking a while back that it was a shame I hadn't taken a panoramic view back in the 1970s and then I found two I had taken when digging out negatives for scanning earlier this year. It shows the view from the Springvale bridge towards the Station and Vernon Street including the site of the former Murray's garage and the Jubilee Bar which can be seen to have been demolished and it is in use as a temporary car park prior to the bus stop being moved there. An A.1. bus is heading towards the station while going the othe way is WCS843K of A.A. In the cars an NSU can be seen in the foreground amongst lots of interesting 1970s cars.
