Certificates of Authenticity

Brooms come with a certificate of authenticity that has been designed by me & then printed on paper that has been aged, a process that uses an acid free dye ink that is fade-resistant, water, a wood stove & an iron. Some pages even have mica flakes on the back. After printing the certificates were further distressed using acid free ink & some are hand trimmed, sanded, & even burned a bit. Certificates are signed by the artist aka Me ;)

 

When I was shooting this photo, I was playing with the idea that these certificates had been found in Grandma's old suitcase that's been hidden in the attic for all these years. Yes, this is really my Grandmother's suitcase. This is the suitcase she would pack to visit her mother, my great grandmother, in North Dakota.
