Calm after storm
After hurricane ophrelia hit Ireland on the 16th September we had a very calm morning on the 17th. This is on North beach in Rush looking back towards the range wall.
There was a lot of damage done in the south of Ireland but the east coast escaped most of the wrath of the storm.
Sadly 3 people lost their lives during the storm the first of it magnitude to hit Ireland since 1961 with winds of 180 knots recorded.
