A device for measuring bees NOT lol.
Its a very early exposure meter circa 1900ish.
This is probably a later version.
The back rotates and exposes some silver paper which gets dark on recieving light, the paper seems to recover later on.
You measure how many seconds it takes to match the surround grey black thing and take that as your light reading,
Scott of the antarctics photographer 1902 had one of thes and praised it fulsomely.
He must have been a fit chap lugging around the huge weight of huge camera, tripod and glass plates.
The f numbers are intriguing here, talk about dark!
Ill just set my camera to f90 and 300 seconds lol that should give a good depth of focus.
Hope I dont get camera shake.
Seriously though this was a good thing when it came out.
