Cicada Exoskeleton Davies Creek

I think you call this outside shell an exoskeleton but I will be corrected if it is wrong. It is common to find the old cicada shells on logs and trees and posts. One photo here was on a tree, the other on a post.

 

I discovered today that the cicadas in this region I went to are quite large. I found a few dead ones, probably because of a storm, and photographed one, but those photos can be posted next time.

 

There were many thousands alive making a terrible racket and peeing on me too.
