Hand-made Pathein umbrellas on display for sale in touristy Bagan. These umbrellas are primarily made in the town of Pathein in Myanmar's Ayeyarwady region.

They are made from bamboo and cotton cloth that has been dyed, decorated, and waterproofed by repeated applications of some combination of oils, waxes, and varnish.
