Botany Bay Plantation: Mrs. Pepper's Oak

Who is Mrs. Pepper and why is this her tree?

 

Mrs. Pepper was the late owner of Botany Bay Plantation and when she and her husband were adding this pond for wildlife preservation and fishing, she wanted this stately oak preserved.

 

So, Mr. Pepper carved a niche out of the pond to provide space for the tree.

 

Pretty neat.
