Bloody Point
"Bloody Point" on Daufuskie is named for a battle between colonists and Native Americans. An indian attack up the coast prmpted retaliation here. The dead trees, a common sight on the barrier islands of South Carolina, give the point a chilling, yet alluring, "boneyard" effect.
To the right, at low tide, a sandbar extends almost 1/2 a mile into the ocean. It is fun to explore, be be quick - the returning tide will kill you.
