This building in downtown Durham was built in 1948 and served as a cigarette manufacturing factory for the Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company. In 2013 it sold for $7.5 million to Wexford Science & Technology. Wexford is part of the real estate investment trust BioMed Realty and specializes in developing facilities for institutions, especially universities, university-led research parks, and health care systems. It plans to develop the building for use by life science and technology companies.
