"Peace"
This visually appealing post card has many aspects of visual rhetoric ingrained in the image itself. First off, the use of contrast is established with the use of black and white images of the "peace sign" and the word "peace" against the colorful orange background and the psychadelic colored "peace symbol." The use of these colors also gives the impression of the "hippie movement" from which the phrase and symbols originated. The author also provided shadow and 3D effects in order to show proximity and placement throughout the visual. The placement of each image in this postcard is visually stimulating and gives the appeal of images launching out of the postcard. The creator of this postcard seems to effortlessly, yet purposely, string these images together, as if in peaceful harmony, to convey the overall message of this postcard: peace.
