Detouring Thirty Thursday-II
GP30 #1256 leads seven other locos on a detouring Santa Fe eastbound in February of 1969 as it passes through City of Industry, California. The eight unit consist includes three more GP30's, a GP35, two SD24's and a single RSD15 "Gator". The train is detouring over Union Pacific rails between Commerce and Riverside in southern California as flooding from days of heavy rain has caused washouts on both the Second and Third Districts of Santa Fe. Several trains were detoured over a couple of days but this was the only one I managed to catch to photograph. Others I witnessed from my nearby high school.
