Finally -II
There were many Metrolink officials out witnessing the testing and quite a few of the busier grade crossings were covered by employees providing flagging protection just in case. All seemed to go well and they only ran as far as Glendora where they posed the loco for photos under the last remaining cantilever signal bridge, sporting a vintage US&S R2 three-color signal. Part of the reason for the delay in putting these things in service is there are some safety compliance issues with the ones that have been delivered so far. One of the things that was pointed out by another fan in some of his detailed images from Saturday is the handrail length has been modified on 905. Seems they didn't extend down towards the ground far enough. In this image, 905 has reached Glendora and is posed just past the last remaining cantilever on the Pasadena sub. Within three-four years, this scene will be altered immensly as the extension of the Gold Line east from Azusa to Claremont will occupy this r-o-w and a separate freight line will be built adjacent to the two light rail tracks.
